Individual Assessments

Implementing an assessment as a BCBA involves several key steps, including conducting observations, interviews, and reviewing records to gather data about a client's strengths and challenges. This information is then used to develop an individualized treatment plan with specific goals, strategies, and interventions. COMPASS will also collaborate with caregivers and professionals to ensure the treatment plan is comprehensive and effective.

Assessments Offered:

Functional Behavior Assessments: A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is a systematic process used to understand the reasons behind a person's challenging behaviors, particularly in educational, home, community or therapeutic settings. It aims to identify the underlying function (communication or purpose of the behavior), and then suggests replacement behaviors or communication that are safe, universally understood and help the individual self advocate). Often a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) is then developed and used.

Executive Functioning Skills Assessment: An executive functioning skills assessment is a set of evaluations designed to measure an individual's cognitive abilities related to planning, organizing, managing time, focusing, regulating emotions, and achieving goals. These assessments help identify strengths and weaknesses in these areas, which can be crucial for developing appropriate interventions or support strategies. *Assessments offered include: Naturalistic Observation, Analogue Observation, Performance Based Assessments, Self Report Measures and Parent/Caregiver/Teacher Report Measures

Developmental Assessment: A developmental assessment is a systematic process used to evaluate a child's growth and development across various areas, including cognitive, motor, language, social-emotional, and adaptive skills. It helps identify potential developmental delays or challenges and guides appropriate interventions and support. Essentially, it's a way to understand where a child is at in their development and how to best help them thrive.  *Assessments offered include: Vineland III, VB-MAPP & ABLLS-R

Comprehensive Social Skills: A comprehensive social skills assessment is a process that evaluates an individual's ability to interact effectively with others, manage social situations, and understand social cues. It aims to identify strengths and weaknesses in social skills to inform the development of targeted interventions and support. *Assessments offered include: Functional Social Skills Assessment, Social Skills Inventory (SSI), Naturalistic Observation, Analogue Observation, Performance Based Assessments, Self Report Measures and Parent/Caregiver/Teacher Report Measures

School Environmental Assessments: A school-based environmental assessment is a process used to evaluate the physical, social, and learning environment of a school, aiming to identify strengths and areas for improvement related to student’s well-being and academic success. It involves assessing factors like classroom layout, safety, school climate, and the impact of the environment on student behavior and learning. This can be helpful when trying to determine between multiple school sites.
